Ask Operation Management Expert

I need help in completing an operational plan which is a part of a larger Subway business plan. I have attached a copy of the sections required, Inventory-accounts payable, as well as all the question that need to be answered in each section. I have also attached the overall operational plan in which half has already been completed, the required section starts on page 8. There is no page limit required. The only limitation is all questions be answered for each section.

There is no page limit but the other sections have been running about 1 page per section double spaced. The only limitation is that each question listed under each section be answered in detail. The only sections needed are Inventory, Suppliers, Credit Policies, and managing your accounts payable.

The document "whole operational plan" has all other sections as well as the required sections, inventory-payable, so you have an example of how the document is formatted and the direction it is going.

Inventory

• What kind of inventory will you keep: raw materials, supplies, finished goods?

• Average value in stock (i.e., what is your inventory investment)?

• Rate of turnover and how this compares to the industry averages?

• Seasonal buildups?

• Lead-time for ordering?

Suppliers

Identify key suppliers:

• Names and addresses

• Type and amount of inventory furnished

• Credit and delivery policies

• History and reliability

Should you have more than one supplier for critical items (as a backup)?

Do you expect shortages or short-term delivery problems?

Are supply costs steady or fluctuating? If fluctuating, how would you deal with changing costs?
