Natalia Willis:

David Hume was correct when he wrote "the life of a man is of no more importance to the universe that that of an oyster". This is true because the universe will continue on with little impact from us as an individual. However if you take into consideration the human race as an entire entity; we are a large impacting unit. Think of a human being as a single strain of bacteria. If a wound is opened and bacteria enter they will eventually multiply and consume the wounded without intervention. The human race if left uninhibited will consume our host/the world. Thus impacting our surrounding universe. The meaning of life for the individual is to leave little negative impact on the world we live so that we can preserve it for future generations. We must also make sure to leave a great positive impact on the condition of the lives of those around us. If we treat others with kindness they will pass on that kindness; this would make the world a better place. These acts give our lives meaning.

Jessica Colunga:

David Hume quote is deep, but I disagree with his statement. I would say life is one most beautiful things that one can live by. Life cannot not be granted and it is to live life to the fullest. We humans need to appreciate the little things in life and enjoy every moment that we can. The meaning in my life is to experience the everyday life and to be blessed to be alive. I am blessed with what I have now and I appreciate the people around me. Anything that is living is life and the meaning of the blessing that God has provided to the world. We should have to be happy with being alive and especially in general.
