I have gained so much insight from this course it has opened my eyes up to so many things that can be done more effectively through following the processes we have covered. First thing is how the planning process can make or break any step within the project. If the scope, time, cost, quality, communication, human resources, risk, procurements, and stakeholder engagement is not properly implemented the success of the project is at stake. Even if the project was not a complete failed endeavor when the process is not followed money and resources are not properly allocated. Secondly I really enjoyed learning about the process of Project integration management. The process that really hit home for me was integrated change control which is reviewing all change requests approving changes and managing changes to deliverables, organizational process assets, project documents and the project management plan. This was a task that as we were learning I was tasked to assist with this process at work. It gave me a whole new perspective and approach to the task. While I felt the need to be more thorough noticing that through this process I was able to identify other broken process within my organization. Thirdly I developed a deeper respect for the people that have to contribute to the project through human resources. This is the most vital job to the project’s success without the right people in the right positions it can become a costly project giving the project manager a dim outlook. In addition quality management plan was another area that was very enjoyable for me to learn more about. This is what I currently do at work and I really gain a different perspective on some of the tedious things that come along with the job. Lastly there is identifying risks processes that drew me in to understand some key elements that I would have not look at as a risk before. For example the involvement of procurement documents being a key input to the identifying of risks process.
