Part 1

Your supervisor has asked you to prepare general descriptions of various operating systems used in the final report to the director of information technology.

Your report of 2–3 pages must include a general description for the following operating systems:

MS-DOS

Windows

UNIX

Mac OSX

Include a brief historical summary of each operating system, system requirements, interfaces available, and other unique aspects of each OS selected. Use the library and other resources to review these operating systems.

Part 2

Your company has just contracted with a new client. The client's computer systems are old technology at best, using Windows 98. The client has decided to upgrade to modern technology and scrap the current system. The client's company currently has 200 employees. The company works with data entry and data storage.

Your supervisor has asked you to recommend a new operating system for the client. In your second report of 2–3 pages, include the following:

Suggest an operating system for your client. Explain why this operating system would work the best.

Discuss differences/similarities of operating systems available for the client (Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Unix, etc.).

Make sure all of your references are cited in APA format
