I carry insurance through my employer. In 2013 my birth control pill, mononessa, was free. (zero copay) In January of this year my insurance changed very slightly but basically is the same plan as last year, if not better. When I had my mononessa refilled in Jan., I suddenly had to pay $39 and some change for 90 days worth. Why would this be? I thought there was a bill passed that starting this year, hormonal birth control was free of charge. With insurance, which I have. The $39 is affordable, but I still have a very tight budget. Do you know anything about this supposed law? I don't get why the very same prescription would go from free to about 13.00 monthly. With nearly the same insurance plan. I suppose I can ask the pharmacist as well but am wondering if you have any knowledge about this.
