I am 59. I started using Nifidifine Retard 20mg in 2006 for my high BP and I was quite happy with the drug maintaining 130/80. But 2 months before my BP suddenly rose to 175/80. The doctor immediately added Concor 5mg, and Deplatt 75 mg instead of increasing the dosage of Nifidipine. The BP is now 124/ 77 now. Too many discomfort I experienced with the added medicines.

Question 1: Why Nifidipine failed to meet the target after 8 yrs use?

Question2: why they added new medicine instead of increasng the strength?
