How long does it take before the pertussis is out of the body. It started in December and I was diagnosed in the ER mid January 2014. There are good days and bad days. The span between the bad days is getting longer but the bad days are wiping me out. I've read that this CAN take up to 18 months to be gone but I'm really hoping that is not the case for me.
