How do you think socratic method works and why do you think it works?
When a broad social issue-individual rights, environmental pollution, or child custody-intrudes into our lives and moves from the abstract to the personal, we must consider our opinions of them as complex issues through background knowledge and integrated thinking and language abilities. Do you think most people are like that or are they more likely to take their opinions from the media? Why or why not? What dangers do you think the media pose as a source of unexamined personal opinions? Can you provide any examples?
