In the 1950's and early 60's the use of DDT was rampant. (See Video). But almost everyone accepted the blanketing of our parks, neighborhoods, lunchrooms, and even our living rooms because they just thought it was the right thing to do. Now that we know the dangers of DDT, it has been banned almost everywhere around the world. Fast forward 50 years from now, and describe what you think people will be saying is the "DDT" of our time. What environmental calamity will your children and grandchildren be talking about in 2064 when they say, "What were those people thinking back at the turn of the millennium?" Describe the issue and why you think it is the most important environmental problem to address for future generations.
