HERE IS THE QUESTION...Compare Google with Facebook. In terms of the five forces of competition, do you feel these companies view one another as competitors? Why or why not?

HERE ARE 2 RESPONSES. PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR FEEDBACK REGARDING THE RESPONSES TO THE ABOVE QUESTION. MIN 250 WORDS REQUIRED REGARDING YOUR RESPONSE TO THE QUESTION ABOVE

A. Google is considered an internet search engine as well as provide other interpersonal ways to interact with friends and family by using: G mail, google hangouts and google +. Facebook is considered a social media. You can stay in touch with friends from all over and find friends you may have lost touch with.

Share messages and photos on Facebook and you can also send money now with Facebook. Google and Facebook may have some rivalry in some views. With Google, you can search the web and with Facebook is considered a interpersonal communication web page. Regarding the five forces of competition I would have to say that these two companies could have some competition.

Facebook and Google view each other as competitors due to the nature each one operates. Both companies rely on advertise online as a mainstream of revenue for their company. So I would have to say that each company view each other as rivalry because they both threaten one another's main source of revenue.

B. I do not believe Facebook and Google see each other as competitors, they both have their own services and features. Facebook is a social networking site in which people are connected with each other. Google is a search engine from which people can search any topic for more information.

The book discusses the five forces of competition as threat of new entrants, bargaining power of suppliers, bargaining power of buyers, threats of substitutes and rivalry among competing firms (Hitt, Ireland & Hoskisson, 2015)). Threat of new entrants-Facebook and Google cannot be compared here as they are not in the same market Bargaining power of supplier- Facebook is large enough bargaining power is less and mostly for small businesses, Google supplier power is strong and buyer exerts less control.

Bargaining power of buyer- Facebook gives a fair amount of bargaining power to buyer and Google can influence based on customers. Threat of substitutes-Both companies have threats but are currently leading the market in their area. Rivalry among competing firms-none that I know of

AGAIN WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON A. AND B. MINIMUM 250 WORDS REQUIRED FOR EACH. THANK YOU. ONCE ANSWERED FEEDBACK WILL BE PROVIDED.
