HCA 322Health Care Ethics & Medical Law Text:Bustillos, D. (2013).

Health care ethics and medical law

Review your classmates' posts who chose different core measures than you.

In a substantial post to each, evaluate the feasibility of putting together their recommended policy and/or procedure for a health care facility. Explain whether or not you think there is a better way to ensure that this core measure is followed. You must use at least one additional scholarly source in your response.

Your response posts must be a minimum of 100 words. Kathleen The core measurement I select is Immunization. Immunization is an essential health care strategy where a vaccine is administered to a person therefore protecting him or her from contracting an infectious disease. Immunizations act by stimulating one's body to produce antibodies against various diseases including rubella, mumps, polio, pertussis, rubella, and hepatitis B (Ventola, 2016).

A hospital ensures enforcement of immunization policies in an effort to ensure that it is accepted and adopted. For instance, immunization campaigns are being held in hospitals where they sensitize people on the importance of getting immunized. In this case, the campaigns can be relayed via posters or banners informing people on the importance of immunization.

On the other hand, communities can also be mobilized and taught about the importance of immunization (Anderson, 2015). This is important because most communities rely on traditional treatments which are in uncontrolled doses and ineffective. Offering the target group something in return is also important if a hospital wants to ensure that immunization policies are followed.

For instance, for tetanus immunization, the target group can be pregnant women in their first trimester where they can be offered free prenatal care in that period. For immunization to be achieved, a specific procedure has to be followed. First, people have to be sensitized about immunization and its advantage to their health. This is through banners, campaigns, and posters. After that, the target group in this case is educated on how the vaccine will be introduced in their system be it intramuscular or intravenous (Anderson, 2015). The target group is then vaccinated and advised on any follow-ups needed leaving the health facility. References Anderson, V.L (2015). Promoting Childhood Immunizations.
