The purpose of formative assessment is to ensure you are on the right track towards achieving maximum results in the summative assessments. Assessment 1: Sustainability Strategy Analysis Carry out the activities related to the following learning outcomes then note what you learn to help you to complete the above summative assessment. Learning outcome 1- Examine the main motivations for engagement in sustainable business practices and the application of Life Cycle Thinking and the Quadruple Bottom Line approach as fundamental sustainability concepts earning outcome 2- Analyse sustainability as a management strategy and the relationship between sustainability and productivity. Evaluate the systems perspective in relation to shared value creation for a competitive advantage in a sustainable business

a) Define systems thinking, value creation and competitive advantage in your own words.

b) Read three journal articles that discuss systems thinking and value creation. Write down at least six core points and describe how they contribute to sustainability of business and how they are drivers for competitive advantage. Analyse long term strategic implications and change mechanisms in relation to sustainable productivity Learning outcome 5- Articulate quadruple bottom line approach for business in relation to sustainability. Write a one-minute paper on the quadruple bottom line approach Examine current sustainability practices of New Zealand Business. Present a poster to your class that outlines current sustainability practices of businesses in New Zealand and describe at least one such framework. Discuss the of role of the triad of integration, imagination and innovation, ( including technological innovation) in achieving sustainable productivity long termThe Sustainable business development transformation process requires insights, imagination, integration, and innovation. In pairs, discuss this triad and show linkages between SBD and sustainability. Present to the rest of the class.
