BII has the potential to encourage individuals to value the acceptance of various cultures rather than wish them away. Specifically in a time where hate crimes and racial discrimination seem to be on the rise, demonstrating the scientifically-backed benefits of accepted two cultures is beneficial. By developing an understanding of the benefits that bicultural individual can bring to society (with their advanced cognitive processing), closed-minded individuals may begin to further appreciate the beauty of culture and diversity.
