For this assignment, you need to find two articles about Cyber-Crime, Cyber-Terrorism, and/or the DarkNet. You will get extra points if YOUR articles are unique (no one else in the class has the same article).

We have discussed ethics, security, the Internet, technology in business, decisions, laws surrounding technology, etc. In this week's class, we are covering the Social Impact of Systems, computers, and technology. Along with everything in the world (both real and imagined), there are things that are wonderful and magical. But, with everything that seems wonderful and magical, there can be (and usually is) a dark side. In this assignment, I want you to consider the dark side of the wonderful world of Systems, computers, and technology.

1. Do you think people are too worried about Big Data security? Why or why not?

2. Should companies be legally liable if they do not protect the data they collect that belongs to their customers, employees, or others?

3. What should individuals know to protect themselves? Should they be worried about protecting their personal data?

4. What are the dangers for individuals?

5. How would you "educate/notify/alert" people about the dangers?

6. Do you think the government should be collecting data on individuals?

7. Is this a violation of rights (ethically)? Should it be a legal violation?

8. Do you think that the data collected by the government is justified?

9. Do you think individuals should have some legal remedy (some way to file lawsuits) if they are damaged/hurt by mismanagement of data collected by the government?

10. Do you think the U.S. has hurt relationships with other countries/allies by covertly collecting data on other political leaders, etc.? Is this any different than the traditional spying that has occurred for hundreds of years?

11. Do you think that the DarkNet is something that can ever be controlled?

12. This class is about Information Systems in the world of Business Organizations. How does the DarkNet relate? Is there any link between the DarkNet and Big Data? Discuss.
