Focus Paper - Talent and Leadership: Toyota Corporation

This week you are determining the talent and leadership options for your selected organization, including the top-level reporting structure, application of the governance levers, identification of the talent pivot points, and recommendations for leadership development. This is an exciting component of your design process.

Building on your prior work for your selected organization, write a 3-5 page paper (excluding title and reference pages) demonstrating that "You have designed and staffed the critical roles and defined the work of the executive team" (Milestone #4) in your organization design. Include the following:

Checklist:

Transition from the Unit 3 Focus Paper by using a 1-2 paragraph summary of your prior recommendations for integration as your Introduction for this paper.

Selection of the top-level reporting structure for your selected organization based on the organization's design criteria. Provide rationale for your choice. Include a high-level organization chart.

Application of the four governance levers (beliefs, networks, boundaries, and diagnostics) to analyze potential roles for the executive team. Based on this analysis, provide a recommendation along the continuum of highly operational to visionary, relationship oriented for your organization.

Identification of the talent pivot points in your selected organization

Recommendations for experience exposure that is high-value and creates opportunities for people who have potential to make substantial upward moves.

Conclusion should briefly summarize the primary points of the paper and bring forward a call to action.

The Assignment will be evaluated using the Focus Paper Rubric located in the course Syllabus.

Therefore, please ensure it is written with proper grammar, in APA format (including clear section headings), and includes at least 5 cited and referenced resources-three (3) of which must be peer reviewed (scholarly) journal articles.
