Examination" consists of two essay questions.

Instructors are asked to select two of the questions provided (try not to use the same ones for each class). Please delete all but two of the questions.

The essays should be of at least 500 words each question. Please build fact-based arguments that are supported by documented examples and credible sources. Opinions are unnecessary, and the phrases such as "I think" or "in my opinion" should appear nowhere in the essays.

Question 1

Lesson 7 presented several national policy matters that have developed over the past 10 to 20 years. Please explain how public policy is formed in the American system of government. How is the problem identified? Who is responsible for determining solutions or setting the public policy agenda? (Hint: Read the examples and ask yourself these questions as you read the information presented about each.)

Question 2

Identify all of the Executive Branch departments, agencies, etc., that have roles regarding the nation's nuclear weapons and what each of their roles are.

Provide a fully developed essay of at least 500 words, and cite sources used.
