Problem: Tort reform is an ever evolving topic of conversation for physicians , attorneys, law makers, and healthcare companies.  There are many states where physicians prefer not to practice medicine, due to the high medical malpractice rates and increasing number of lawsuits.  The purpose of this assignment is promote a thought process around the many legal issues that everyday healthcare professionals, that you may see, have to consider as they practice in their field.

For example, the legal issues presented by a psychiatrist will vastly differ from that of an anesthesiologist, which will yet differ from an oral surgeon.

Select three (3) different healthcare professionals and discuss the legal issues that may be present in that area.  Research three court cases for the healthcare professions selected and apply the IRAC analysis to each case.  IRAC is a methodology for legal analysis which stands for Issue, Rule, Application, and Conclusion.  See attached handout which describes IRAC.

Format:
