Healthcare is an outcomes-based industry. This means that healthcare organizations must produce results in order to be successful. Today's healthcare organizations are held to high standards for meeting the community's needs and delivering quality care. Successful healthcare administrators must be able to accurately evaluate how their organization aligns with community-based healthcare initiatives. Often, community leaders and politicians have a preconceived vision for healthcare in the communities in which they serve. Yet healthcare organizations set their own goals and objectives. Today's leaders must be able to align their organization's goals and objectives with those of the community they serve. In order to do so, healthcare leaders need to be aware of public health initiatives.
