Evaluating a Training Experience

Read Chapter 8: Training and Developing a Competitive Workforce

Training is maximized when leaders set clear expectations for learners, use techniques for reinforcing learning during training, and take steps to ensure that the desired performance is maintained after training.

First, briefly describe one of your job-related training experiences-e.g., what was the purpose of the training and what was the program format (see pages292-294)?

Using the parameters on pages 278-279 of your textbook as a guide, evaluate the effectiveness of the training experience.

Note:  If you have not participated in a formal, work-related training experience, interview someone who has and evaluate his or her experience.
