ETHICAL RESEARCH PAPER PROPOSAL

You will first select an ethical topic related to your field of study (You might refer to the appendix of the Rugerio textbook for some proposed topics). A proposal stands at the beginning of many academic and professional projects. Here it will be the first step towards writing your term paper. By the end of the course, you will write an ethics paper in which you will provide a solution to a moral problem of your choice. To create the solution you will select and utilize one of the ethical theories according to your instructor's choice.

As your first step towards the Ethical Research Paper, write a short proposal (250 to 400 words) in APA Research format in which you describe a suitable moral problem. A suitable moral problem is a controversial issue where reasonable people can disagree on the solution.

1. In the first paragraph of your proposal, introduce the problem that you will solve and identify the two opposing solutions that make the topic into a suitable topic for an ethics paper.Let us look at one of the excluded topics as an example: if the problem were the available choices for women who want to end a pregnancy, then the opposing solutions would be to keep abortion legal or to make it illegal. This topic is suitable because the opposing sides offer rational solutions and you will be in the position to find the solution that is ethically sound.

2. In the next two paragraphs, describe the opposing positions in this debate-first for the supporting side and then for the opposing side.

3. Search the Baker e-library databases to locate THREE PEER-REVIEWED ARTICLES that will help you understand and solve your moral problem.

4. List your three peer-reviewed sources in a preliminary reference list. Carefully format each source according to APA standards.

5. Under each source in about 50 words per article, explain how each source provides a credible source of information. The word count for this part is in addition to the 250-400 words required for your proposal.
