Ask Operation Management Expert

Employees often bring their personal belongings to work, for whatever reason. Sometimes it's pictures of their family, sometimes their own pen, or a back pillow, or foot rest, etc. In those situations, should the employee anticipate their personal belongings to be mixed with company property? If yes, how can he/she protect those belongings? Additionally, if a company provides those items for employee use during work hours, does the employee have a right to take it out of the premises or use it outside of the designated purpose?
