Effective Communication

Provide an assessment of the assigned article (1000 to 1500 words)

• Review the article that the authors intended not the article you wish they wrote
• Place the APA article reference at the top of the first page, skip a line and begin the review
• Write the introduction as if the title and reference are not there; assume your reader is at your level of academic and business acumen and is reading your review in an academic marketing journal
• Limit article summary to one paragraph
• Consider opposing arguments or point of view, briefly recognize their strengths and point out the weaknesses of the arguments or point of view*
• Discuss the most relevant weaknesses of the article; quickly acknowledge author intentions and point out evidence to support your assessment*
• Conclude by explaining the value or contribution to the field represented by the article, the right audience for the article, and the direction for further research that the article points readers *If you are providing a positive review, you might prefer to attack negative criticisms first and provide support for your review second.
