DOCUMENTARY STORM : PUBLIC BROADCASTING SERVICE (PBS)

The only restriction is based on topic, students are required to choose a documentary that focuses on an aspect of health as discussed in the course. The underlying premise of a reaction paper is to prove or disprove how the documentary fits with the course material. It is not a only a comparison though there needs to be points to compare as part of your personal reaction to the documentary.

Focus on whether there is support that coincides with what you have learned in the course or if the documentary takes a much different view of the topic. Remember to use quotes and even statistics or research information from both to support the direction you feel the documentary takes versus the course.

It is important to remember that this is not just an opinion, review, or comparison paper. It will have a aspects of all three to write a complete reaction yet it needs to be supported with evidence from the documentary and the course. Begin with a brief paragraph reiteration which introduces the documentary and the topic of focus. Next you need to evaluate the documentary in detail to expand on what it shows versus what you have learned and whether it was done well with support. Plus, you need to show support for your opinion.

Read the "How to" article for exact guidelines.
