Diverse beliefs:
Cynthia is a new employee in a health science field and gifted with thoughtfulness and conscientious. As her coworkers are not interested to know her she is left to her mercy. But since she is gifted with thoughtfulness she indulges in spiritual journals and writes and prays during lunch, this shows her adaptiveness to the new environment and her simplicity. Though her fellow beings don’t invite her for lunch she is not disheartened at all. As a new employee this happens to everyone but we should learn from Cynthia how we should cope up with the environment rather than feeling uncomfortable and angry with others. This type of culture should be imbibed and one should be calm, cool and strong willing rather than losing the wit, definitely people come out of their beliefs and try to befriend you. Cohesive environment can be created by slowing indulging in the work and knowing others by having a polite talk with them. Helping them when required, staying an extra hour if the work demands and by sharing few things with others. Attending when any sought of emergency is needed also helps in bringing closer to coworkers. Having refreshments during the breaks, going for a short walk with them also increases the bonding.
On the first day of my college day during the Nutrition and dietetics course similar situation was faced by me. All my fellow students were staring and no one communicated. It looked weird and different for me. All of us were moving in the college campus but none of us were communicating with each other. Added to this confusion the seniors were showing attitude. At the end of the day, I smiled t one of my classmate and started sharing few words, I offered her lift to the bus stop on the same day and felt quite better. The next day I was surprised to see her smile at me and she herself came up to me. I felt happy. We exchanged a good rapport and no sooner did we see the other classmates too joining us. Thus we all became good friends in a day or two.
