Activity Instructions: Disaster Synopsis: review and write a synopsis for four articles that involve current disaster planning issues in health care, including bio-terrorism and three other risks in a health care setting. Provide a bibliography of your selected articles. (A 2-page response is required.)

Discussion Question 1: Which persons are most likely to become violent in emergency departments and what factors lead a person to violent behaviors? What security measures are included in a security plan to address workplace violence? Explain the procedures hospitals may legally take to respond to such behavior. What kind of documentation is required when violent incidents do occur in emergency departments? (A 1½-page response is required.)

Discussion Question 2: Discuss breach of duty and give two examples. Identify the types of negligence common in the workplace and give two examples. (A 1½-page response is required.).
