Discussion: Decision Making Videos

One video available on Youtube which I found very useful and accurate explains the concepts behind group decision-making. The video has more than 29 thousand views (Muzio, 2010). The video is useful in the sense that it explains the various forms of group making-decision. It explains the concepts of consensus, democratic, dictatorial, Consultative, and group consultative in a very simple word with an example.

The video uses simple English and is to understand for everyone. I would recommend the video to my class fellows. Group decision-making can become complex at many times (Moshal, 2009). With the help of this video, the theoretical concept can become fairly simple to understand. Remembering the various types of group decision-making styles can become confusing as there are only minor differences between each type. However, with the graphical and detailed explanation performed in this video, it becomes easier to differentiate and remember the various types.

A video I found on Youtube which I believe is not an efficient attempt is on group decision-making process (Shaikh, 2013). The video has few views and has been designed by a group of students. The video has no audio. The video has a poor introduction and abruptly starts explaining the concepts of decision-making. It explains brainstorming, Delphi technique, nominal group technique, computer-aided technique, dialectic decision method, and some others. Its main focus is on the Delphi technique.

The Delphi technique is more time consuming as the time frame required is much longer than any other comparative method(Haughey, 2017). However, the video does not explain the concepts of any of the techniques in a clear manner. Even after watching the video, I have doubts about the various concepts of group decision-making and would require further research to completely understand them. I would not recommend the video.
