Discussion : Theoretical Frameworks, Program Models, and Strategies

Throughout your program, you have reviewed scholarly literature, theoretical frameworks, and different program models and strategies to address issues of public health.

Consider how these frameworks, models, and strategies have been developed to protect and promote the health of individuals, communities, and populations.

In your initial post, address the following:

• What theoretical framework might you apply to your chosen community and selected health issue, based on your work on the needs analysis? How might this framework prove to be effective in helping you reach your program goals?

• What program model can be applied to address the chosen public health issue in your community? Why might it prove to be effective?

Consider the assessment, monitoring, and prevention strategies that have been used in these program models.

In responding to your peers, comment on whether you believe the theoretical frameworks and program models they have identified and discussed correlate with the needs analysis and the overall goals they have previously outlined.

If not, offer suggestions for other theoretical frameworks or program models that may be more appropriate in addressing their chosen issue.
