What are some of the costs and benefits to using these particular sources? and discussing the importance of incorporating research/evidence based practice into our own nursing practice. In the course of their practice, nurses ask many questions, and not all of them can or should be answered by a search for best evidence. Carper (1978) suggests that nurses employ at least four ways of knowing in patient care: moral, aesthetic, personal and empiric.
