Directions:  Complete the assignment using full sentences and proper grammar. Depth of analysis and the thought fulness put into your answers is important and will factor into the number of points that you earn. Save as Word document ( last name_ BBB.doc) and submit to BBB drop box by midnight on 6-3.

You will need to do the following to answer questions:

1.) Go to www. bbb.org

2.) Type in the 16057 zip code

3.) This will bring up a page that asks you for what type of business that you are seeking. Type in "plumbers" and change the designation above the search line from "name" to "category."  16057 should still remain in the zip code box. If it is not there, please put it there.  Hit the search magnifying glass and you should see a list of ALL BBB accredited plumbers within a certain mile radius of 16057.  About a quarter down the page you will see a blue highlight that gives you the option to click on "if you would like to search plumbers among all businesses, click here".  Please complete this step. If you did all steps correctly, Steven P. Bickel Plumbing should be the first plumber you see in the list.  Now you are ready to answer the questions below.

A.) Give the address for Steven Bickel Plumbing and Heating. Is this business accredited by the BBB?  If not, what are some of the possible reasons this business has yet to seek accreditation?

B.) What business is listed next?  Is this business accredited by the BBB?  If so, what is the rating? How many customer complaints did this organization have within the last three years?  How many of these complaints were closed within the last 12 months?  There are 5 complaint type categories.  Please list all five categories and then tell me which of these categories the business in question has had the majority of its complaints in.

C.) Based on reviewing the top 10 organizations listed.  Tell me which one you would most be apt to call upon (if needed) and give me three good reasons why.

D.) Next, go to the home page and click on the "get to know us" tab.  Navigate through this page to find the answers to the following questions:

a. What are BBB standards against which businesses are evaluated?

b. What are the two holiday scams that the BBB reported to the public around Christmas of last year (2014)?

c. What is the vision statement of the BBB

d. Provide a synopsis of their mission statement.

e. As reported in the news last November, what are some of the popular schemes/scams targeting residents of western PA?
