Read "The Story of Jumping Mouse" on pages 373-379 of Philip Novak's The Wodd's Wisdom. Write a 3-4 page paper exploring the ways in which the themes of sacrifice, senice, compassion, non-attachment, transformation and enlightenment manifest themselves in your own life and the lives of those you know. How are you (or we) like Jumping Mouse?
Also, discuss the ways in which the themes of "The Story of Jumping Mouse" seem to echo the themes of the wisdom traditions and religions we have been studying this semester.
Your paper must be 3-4 pages long, typed, double-spaced with one inch margins and printed in a traditional 10 or 12 point font. Your paper must be entirely written in your own words (no plagiarism), although brief quotes are acceptable.
Read the story, open up to it, synthesize its meanings with the things you've learned this semester in this course, and with the things you've seen and learned on your own journey. Find your own voice, and speak.
