Different ethnic, religious, national, or other types of groups in the United States may have different patterns of consumer behavior from other groups, or from the general norm in this country. Of course not everyone in that group behave the same, and generalization about these groups may not apply to individual consumers. Moreover, as individuals in these groups became acculturated, they may assume many of the same values and behaviors of the general culture

With this in mind_ please answer the following suggested questions about yourself and the group you most identify with. You don't need to answer these entire question', if not relevant, or answer them in order. You also might want to indicate how your other peer reference groups (e,g., classmates, friends not in this ethnical/ religious/national group) influence you within this context.

1- Tell about yourself and your family. What ethnic religious or national group you identify with (aside from the general American culture)? Where were you born and raised? Wherewere your parents born? Do you have family in the local area and if so. What is the nature of this family? To what extent do you feel you are acculturated into contemporary American culture? To what extent do you identify with your group?

2- What kinds of-products are used by your group more often, than in the general population? This might include specific foods, clothing, cosmetics, toiletries, or any other products_ (E.g.. Koreans are more likely than other groups to hay and wear slip-on shoes,)

3- What kinds of products are used by your group less often than in the genera] population?(E.g., Jews and Muslims are lobs likely than others to eat pork; Mormons avoid caffeine.)

4-  Aside from specific products used, how, else does your group differ from the general U.S.population on in terms of-consumer behavior? Examples might include:

- Demographic characteristics (e.g., age. income, abandon)

- Attitudinal and behavioral. factors (e.g., the influence of household members on purchase influence, price vs, quality in product selection, the extent to which information is gathered prior to purchase, and so on).

5- How do the overall values of your group differ from the general population? Examplesmight relate to the importance of family, religion, recreation, or education. And so on. How are these reflected in consumer behavior?

6- Are there any products your group commonly uses that might be perceived as strange ordifferent, or is frowned upon by the general US, population'? Examples might relate to the important of family, religion, or education. And so on. How are these reflected in consumer behavior?

7- Are there any products commonly used in the general U.S, population that your group thinks is strange or different, or frowns on? (E.g., eating snails, tattoos)

8- Has pressure (real or imagined or anticipated) from other members of your group ever changed your consumer from what you otherwise might have done? How?

9- What stereotype might exist about your group in terms of consumer behavior? Are them any truth to these stereotypes?

10- If an advertiser wanted to target your group in media, how, would it be done? Specifically what media would he used?
