Developmental Psychology Term Paper

The purpose of the term paper is to demonstrate you have learned some key concepts within Developmental Psychology, and now have the capacity to apply this knowledge. The paper should be your approach to raising a child through various developmental sequences in life. Within each section you should include the following.

1. What you would actually do in the situation

2. If your first approach fails, what would you do next

3. What theoretical backgrounds are you using for your answer (what theories are you basing your answer from)

4. An explanation of why you would handle the situation as you have described

5. Is there anything else that may have contributed to these situations that is important to include

1. Your 2 year old child is throwing food at every meal and then laughing about it. Even when you tell him/her to stop they still continue to throw their food.

2. Your 6 year old daughter is starting 1st grade and she has started to consistently wet her bed. She is sometimes asleep when this happens and sometimes awake.

3. Your just caught your 13 year old daughter watching porn with her friends.

4. Your 18 year old son informs you that he doesn't want to go to college or school any more even though he has been an A student at every level of school so far. He wants to just go and work.

5. Your 20 year old son/daughter informs you they are going to get married, but to their boyfriend/girlfriend who has previously been abusive to them.
