For you to be deemed competent in this unit of competency the following activity needs to be satisfactorily completed and supporting evidence supplied at least once.

The case study below can be used to augment your delivery of the evidence required. Ensure that your responses to the delivery of the evidence are in agreement with the performance criteria for this unit of competency.

Case Study -

You are to assume the role of the manager of the HR department within a large pharmaceutical organisation. (You may choose another industry that you are familiar with or are currently working in).

You would like to improve your work priority skills, as you are feeling bogged down with the work load. You are felling pressure from other colleagues in relation to deadlines. You would like to feel more efficient and be able to deliver results in order of priority as per organisational requirements.

You are required to record the processes and steps you would take to carry out this task by working through the performance criteria listed for this unit.

You are to supply at least one example of evidence of the ability to:

  • Prepare and communication own work plan
  • Schedule work objectives and tasks to support the achievement of the workgroup goals
  • Review own work performance against workgroup objectives through self-assessment and seeking and acting on feedback from clients and colleagues
  • Plan and access teeming opportunities to extend personal work competencies

Plan and complete own work schedule

  • By preparing workgroup plans which reflect consideration of resources, client needs and workgroup targets
  • By analysing and incorporating work objectives and priorities into personal schedules and responsibilities
  • By identifying factors affecting the achievement of work objectives and establishing contingencies and incorporating them into work plans
  • By efficiently and effectively using business technology to manage and monitor planning completion and scheduling at tasks

Monitor own work performance

  • By identifying and analysing personal performance through self-assessment and feedback from others on the achievement of work objectives
  • By seeking and evaluating feedback on performance from colleagues and clients oin the context of individual and group requirements
  • By routinely identifying and reporting on variations in the quality of services and performance in accordance with organisational requirements
