Images of Leadership Assignment
1. Students portray images of leadership through a creative expression including, but not limited to:
o Photographs (creatively displayed or in electronic form)
o Video presentation (flash format, uploaded to YouTube)
o Physical Expression - painting, sculpture (materials of any kind)--- can be brought to class, but a photograph needs to be taken and uploaded into Pilot along with written portion.
o Other: must be approved in advance by course instructor
2. Written portion of this assignment must be included to explain and provide support for your knowledge of leadership.
o There should be at least three different images and three different leadership concepts in your assignment. The names of these three leadership concepts should be clearly indicated in the paper.
o Write an explanation of how the images relate to leadership. Please clearly explain in detail why you think the image is related to the leadership concept you have chosen (in your own words). Be sure to mention any supportive research such as theories, authors, models, etc.
o This assignment should not be more than 4 pages (this page limit does not include the images).
o Please also write the definitions of the all leadership concepts you have used from different resources and reference those resources (including our textbook) within the text using APA style. In this part, please do not write the definitions yourself but refer to different resources. At least 2 reputable resources should be used in your paper. Please also provide a reference list at the end of your paper according to APA style.
o For this assignment, just for photos, you do not need to reference resources about where you got your photos.
o Double-spaced, with Times New Roman size 12 font, left-justified, and 1" margins on all sides.
o Please use pictures that require active student thinking/creativity to tie the images to leadership concepts.
