Over the past two years I have had the blessing to be a small youth group leader to junior high school students, I meet face to face with them once or twice a month and most of the time I just talk with them about their school week, events they attended, and sports they play. Just recently at event we had as I was with talking with them I found that what I was saying about how we should value the relationships we had really resonated with one of our guys. Later that night I called him and asked if he wanted to talk and he proceeded to tell me how just that week he had approached a girl that he liked and was rejected and how he was wasn’t dealing with it too well. I proceeded to tell him about a relationship that I once had that ended badly but affirmed how he dealt with correctly and how he should go about finishing strong. A few weeks he told he had followed my advice and they were still friends and everything had turned out ok in the end.
