Demonstration Speech

This is an informative speech that teaches a process.

1. The specific purpose is to show a specific process including:

- Show how something works/is made

- Show how to take something apart and put back together

- Show how to do something

2. Visual aids are required-How can you demonstrate something without any visuals? Follow the Tips for Presenting Visual Aids from the textbook. Bring all necessary materials, ingredients, supplies, as well as a finished product.

3. Preparation. Develop a speaking outline on index cards to take to the front. This is different from the outline you give the instructor. Keep in mind that you may have to summarize some steps and explain some parts of the demonstration that cannot be recreated in the short time and in the environment available to us. Include in your speech an explanation as to why your audience might benefit from knowing the process you are showing them.

4. Presentation. Before and after your speech, ask someone to help you set up and clean up between speeches. Present your visual aids well, making sure that everyone can see what you are doing as you speak and demonstrate the process.

III. Conclusions-1-2 sentences to summarize the process.
