Deal Maker or Deal Breaker Using Sporting Events to Conduct Business Setting: Your company is trying to solidify a deal with a major automotive parts company from Detroit, and will use the Super Bowl and it’s surrounding events to sway this company to sign a multi million-dollar deal. You were assigned the task of organizing an itinerary for the top 5 executives (three men, two ladies) for a 5 day trip, (Thursday – Monday) leading up to, and during the Super Bowl. The guys are huge football fans, while the ladies moderately enjoy the sport. If you can effectively entertain this group you may close a multi million dollar contract which will ensure your company’s future. Your budget for this group is 20K, and you can spend this money any way you see fit. As the organizer you should identify: - Which events you plan to take this group to - Where they will stay - Where they will eat each meal - Where to shop - Things to do around town - Points of Interest - Other key activities You are required to attend a minimum of: Four (4) Super Bowl XLV activities – taking place in and around the Super Bowl Two (2) non sanctioned events - no official affiliation with NFL One (1) Super Bowl Sponsored event – direct affiliation with NFL Once you have created your itinerary, create a personalized, map for your guests outlining each of your selected activities/hotels/restaurants, and key areas. Details. Put yourself in the shoes of your guests, and identify EVERYTHING that they may want to know before coming to town. Driving times, parking, tour guides, attire, weather, airport information, flight info, rental car info ect….. the easier you make their trip, the more likely you will close the deal. Don’t forget to identify potential times when your boss, and your guests can have some uninterrupted meeting time to discuss business. The details will make all the difference. Prepare a personalized cover letter, a detailed itinerary, and a map that you plan to send to your future guests.
