Current News Article Review

For this assignment, you are to select a recent news article that discusses any aspect of fossil fuel production in the United States. The article should be written within the last 12 months and come from a reputable news source, such as The New York Times, The Washington Times, Huffington Post, or Wall Street Journal (no tabloids, blogs, etc.). You are then to write a paper based on the article by addressing each of the topics below in detail:

a. Summarize the article (in your own words) making sure to include the author, publication source, and date of publication. The summary should be one page in length or less.

b. Discuss how the topic in the article is likely to impact the environment. Make sure to address both the benefits and harms that this topic might create.

c. Based on information from the article, discuss how this topic might affect your life personally in the future.

d. Utilizing at least two scholarly sources, provide some other viewpoints surrounding the topic. Explain how the sources either support or disagree with the author's thoughts or opinions.

Your paper must be three to five pages in length (excluding title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Additionally, you must use at least two scholarly sources to provide sufficient details of the topics listed above. All sources must be properly cited in text as well as on the reference page.
