Current Issues Paper

Choose one of the Eastern religions studied in this course.

(Hinduism, Buddhism, Shinto, Daoism, Confucianism)

Write a 700- to 1,050-word paper that addresses the following topics:

• Introduction
• Provide a brief history of the religion.
• Compare it to another Eastern religion studied in the course.
• Describe how this religion is responding to challenges in the modern world.
• Explain the past and present role of women in the religion.

• Conclusion

• References: For this assignment, you need a minimum of five academic sources. Your textbook is an excellent reference for starters. Wikipedia, dictionaries, and encyclopedias are not appropriate academic sources and will not count toward the required minimum of five academic sources.

• Limit direct quotes to less than 10% of the total manuscript.
