Create a two-part plan for effective, student-centered instruction in a classroom setting of your choice following the outline below. Part I

Section 1: Overview

• Write a brief summary of your personal plan.

Section 2: Goals and Objectives

• Include at least three goals and five objectives for your plan.

Section 3: Rationale

• Resource: Ch. 5 of Secondary School Teaching
• Include a brief statement about why your plan is important and how it will impact learning.

Section 4: Articulation

• Create a visual of vertical and horizontal articulation possibilities for your plan.

Section 5: Special Considerations

• Resource: Ch. 5 of Secondary School Teaching
• Identify any specific areas that might need to be addressed in your plan, such as special populations.

Section 6: Professional Development

• Resource: Ch. 11 of Secondary School Teaching
• Write a brief statement about how you will continue to grow as a professional, the importance of reflection, and at least four ways you plan to stay current in the profession.

Section 7: Assessment

• Resource: Ch. 5 of Secondary School Teaching
• Describe how pre-assessments, formative assessments, and summative assessments will be an integral part of your plan.

Part II

Section 1: Management Strategies

• Resource: Ch. 4 of Secondary School Teaching
• Create a best case and worst case scenario for each of the following items:

o Class management
o Time management
o Technology management
o Environment management
o Student behavior
o Integrated strategies

Section 2: Best Practices

• Access the Technology Resource Library and review the available resources on the Presentation Tools page (located under the Web Tools tab).

• Develop a visual aid/graphic organizer of best practices for creating a positive environment. Use as many visuals as possible to explain the practices using the least amount of text.

Section 3: Technology

• Resource: Ch. 2 of Secondary School Teaching

• Write a 350- to 525-word summary to describe the curriculum choices available in the 21st century. Describe how you might use these curriculum choices in your content area.

• Identify at least five activities that you currently implement in your content area that do not involve technology, and describe how to integrate technology into each activity.

Combine the seven sections from Part I and the three sections from Part II into one document and submit it to the Assignment Files tab.
