Critiquing Health Risk Campaign Video:-

Developed a storyboard that could be used to create a video clip for the health risk related to your health communication campaign.

How does a health educator go from developing a storyboard to capturing a video clip for a health communication campaign?

Not surprisingly, within the field of health education, budgets for certain heath programs do not account for extensive use of or development of media. Within the subset of health communication campaigns, health risk messages convey a health risk based on certain health behaviors.

Nevertheless, by understanding how to create brief health risk messages, you can develop brief health risk videos without incurring large costs. These videos may also have the added benefit of reaching large segments of the population.

When developing your video, you must convey a health risk associated with a behavior and offer resources to gain further information on the risk.

review the storyboard that you developed.

Reflect on what considerations you should keep in mind when creating a video clip based on a storyboard for a health risk related to your health communication campaign.

Keep in mind that you must convey a health risk associated with a health behavior that is related to your health topic of your health communication campaign.

You should also offer and suggest resources for your intended audience to obtain further information on this health risk/health behavior.

You may consult the Walden library as well as previous course resources for additional support.

Note: For instructions on how to use upload your video clip refer to the Kaltura Media Uploader area of the course navigation menu.

Storyboard on HIV/AIDS:-

HIV refers to human immunodeficiency virus, which is transmitted through sexual contacts and through contact with infected blood such as mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth or breast-feeding. Lack of introduction to proper medication, HIV weakens the immune system of the infected person, resulting to the patient having full-blown AIDS. AIDS means acquired immunodeficiency syndrome that is a persistent and prospective life-threatening condition. HIV and AIDS have taken over the health stability of many countries in the world, including USA and is one of the most severe and spread diseases in the world.

Prevention measures are the most important elements of campaigning against HIV and AIDS. People need to have information on how to prevent them against this disease because once they are diagnosed of acquiring it, there is no cure just slowing the progression of the disease by taking the medication such as ARV drugs. In constructing a storyboard of my health communication campaign, I will put in all the prevention measure of contracting HIV and AIDS and in the case of the patients having the disease, I will include the management procedures and activities to make sure they live long healthy lives. Some of these prevention measures include, practicing safe sex by using condoms, getting tested together with the partner and knowing each other's status and having information on pre- exposure prophylaxis for individuals who are at high risks of contracting HIV.

The information of the storyboard on the prevention measures and management of the disease will have a successful impact on the campaign. People need to have full information of the disease for example, on how it is contracted, how it destroys the body's immune system, how it can be prevented and lastly how it can be managed. The society, need to know the effects of stigma to those who are infected and learn to accept them as they are. After acquiring this knowledge from the storyboard, people will know how to keep themselves safe and this will reduce the spread of the disease significantly.
