In a 9-10 page paper (excluding title page and references), critically evaluate Study 4 (A striving for independence: a qualitative study of women living with vertebral fracture), Evaluate the credibility of professional citation, research design, and procedures in a research article. Include a discussion on how this study contributes to EBP.

- The authors have the appropriate clinical and educational credentials for this research study.
- The publication has no financial connection to positive or negative results from the study
- There is no evidence of any conflict of interest for the authors that might introduce bias into the way the study is designed or the way the results are viewed.
- The study has been published in a reasonable time frame

CHECKLIST FOR EVALUATING THE DESIGN OF A RESEARCH ARTICLE
- Evaluates research design using most of the components of the evaluation checklist in Houser (2013) (p. 147).
- The design is clearly identified and described using standard language.
- A rationale is provided or can be easily inferred, for the choice of a design.
- The characteristic of the design can be clearly linked to the nature of the research question.
- If the study is qualitative in nature, the researcher has documented the basis for decisions as the design emerged.

- The review provides support for the importance of the study
- The authors have used primary , rather that secondary, sources.
- The review is unbiased and includes findings that are conclusive and those that have inconsistencies.
- The review ends with a summary of the most important knowledge on the topic.

-Evaluates the sampling strategy using most of the components of the evaluation checklist in Houser (2015, p. 178).
- The target population is clearly and objectively identified
- Inclusion criteria are specific and relevant
- Exclusion criteria are specified to control extraneous variables
- Sampling procedures are likely to produce the best informants to answer the qualitative research question
- The sample is of adequate size , as documented by power for a quantitative study or by saturation for a qualitative study.

- Subjects were selected using objective criteria and assigned to groups randomly
