Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Essay - Skills for Business Assignment

You may wish to consider some of these factors but it is not mandatory to consider all of these items. Steps to take to help you reflect:

1. Research the question about CSR and the role of Business in society. The question is: "A business's only responsibility is to produce profits. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?"

2. What is my opinion about this question? Build an argument based on research.

3. Prepare for, and participate in, the in-class discussion/debate about this CSR question.

4. Reflection about the in-class debate: what went well and how could I improve next time? Did I participate enough? Did I get to explain the points I wanted to make? How can I prepare or participate more effectively in future?

5. Continue to build written arguments to support your opinion about the CSR question.

6. Consider what makes a strong academic essay.

7. Plan the structure for your academic essay about CSR- why is this structure effective?

8. Choose sources to reference. Why have you chosen these sources? Do they reflect a wide range of opinions, methods and types of sources available?

9. Write your essay using the learning you have done in the steps listed previously.

10. Use Harvard style referencing to reference your use of these resources.

11. In your Learning Diary, reflect on the entire process of writing this essay. This includes reflecting about: choosing an approach to the question, researching the question, debating, discussing, participating, and writing the essay itself. Include the CSR essay in the Learning Diary as an appendix, so that you can reflect on this piece of work and the entire process of writing it.
