Conversation is a two-way activity. Listening is an essential part of communication and it is different from just hearing something or someone. Being a good listener is something that you should master if you want to advance your career and build meaningful relationships.
In terms of effectively listening, Read the following article by Gerald Graham, "7 Tips for Effective Listening." Although this is written from an auditor's perspective, the tips are applicable for all professions.
