a) Suppose the system is run as the push line with release rate of .9 parts per minute and Ca=1. Employ the VUT equation to find out the average cycle time and average number of parts in system. Then evaluate what occurs to the average cycle time and number of parts in system when process variability is eliminated so that Ce=0

b) Now assume the system is run as a CONWIP line with the WIP level of one job and has original variability levels Ce=Ca=1. What is average throughput rate and cycle time? What takes place to throughput and cycle time when we eliminate process variability of the Ce=0?
