Non-Field Experience-

1. Select a Case Study in Kochhar-Bryant & Greene (2009).

2. Evaluate or review the evaluations of the student in order to determine which transition pathway would be appropriate.

3. After selecting the pathway and developing it or reviewing a copy of a present pathway, evaluate whether the school system has developed the needed support services and has the needed interagency agreements in place to support this pathway.

Field Experience Option-

1. Select a student in a school system.

2. Be sure to use the provided format to obtain permission to observe or work with a student. An Observation/Permission Format has been provided for you, if needed on the Books and Resources page.

3. Evaluate or review the evaluations of the student in order to determine which transition pathway would be appropriate.

4. Interviewing the student is an optional possibility to get his or her opinion about the specific pathway under consideration.

5. After selecting the pathway and developing it or reviewing a copy of a present pathway, evaluate whether the school system has developed the needed support services and has the needed interagency agreements in place to support this pathway.

Write a paper that documents your transition pathways experience. Include the following in your paper:

1. Are the recommended assessments available?

2. Does the student have access to general education curriculum? Explain how access is

3. obtained in the textbook case study or in the case of the actual student .

4. What is the instructional setting?

5. What related services and supports are needed?

6. When will transition culminate?

7. Summary: what is your overall evaluation of the proposed services?
