Choose a situation at your work, or alternatively at an organization in which you are or were involved, or very familiar. The situation should be one that required major change and was prevalent with challenges. The situation at work will be written as a case study. Therefore, it should present a picture of how effective leadership played a pivotal role (negative or positive) and was a critical element in addressing the situation.

Your case study (with the analysis) should be 6-8 pages in total length (not including the title page, or reference page) and should include the following:

Part One: The Case Story (about 3-4 pages)

• The organization - brief overview of its' history and mission

• The situation or problem being faced by the organization
• The stakes involved as well as the key players involved in resolving the situation (you might choose to focus on one particular leader and his or her actions)
• A description of how the situation was or is being addressed
• The results of actions taken - outcome(s)

Part Two: The Analysis (about 3-4 pages)

Provide reflection and analysis of the Case Story using the Kouzes/Posner Five-Part Framework (The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership):

• Model the Way
• Inspire a Shared Vision
• Challenge the Process
• Enable Others to Act

Black board has been the vain of my academic existence sense the start of college.

As I leaned in engineering class necessity is the mother of all invention and I desperately need to fix blackboard. I also learned in the army that if I don't have solution to the problem you're just complaining.

Don't get me wrong my intentions are not selfish I feel like the student population at CPS could benefit from upgrading blackboard.
Black board has so much untapped potential it could be extremely useful tool to students that helps expand on what was learned in class. instead most students hate simple tasks like submitting an assignment because it is overly complicated.

My goal is to have the staff at northeastern and the students that use black board to come to an agreement on both sides of the aisle as to how blackboard should operate. I honestly hope that is an achievable goal because all parts involved would benefit from it.

An example of what I'm talking about is that the way blackboard operates it leaves dissemination of information problem because there is a lack of feedback to the student as to whether an assignment was completed correctly, or not or even if an assignment has been submitted correctly. This is epically problematic for theory X manager because they like to know exactly what they are supposed to be dong at all times.

I was failing my English class because I was not submitting my essays in the class correctly. But the problem with the system in place is that it allows for over sight like this witch in my experience is like being set up for failure. That should be an easy fix for a programmer to show how to correctly submit an essay with instructions and standardize that method.

I would like to bring a level of structure to nuonline. in the army we call this dress right dress and that meant that everything looked the same. To give an example of how this was useful; if some one got shot we all had a med kit on the same spot on are uniforms. The med kits were organized the same way so that way if anyone got shot we would know where everything was witch would allow us to work faster to stop the bleeding. This was important because we standardized everything everyone knew what to do in that event which lowered the amount of error. But in this system each teacher is running the system in their own way which is the equivalent of everyone packing their med kit differently which makes it harder to get the task done. That is the best way I can explain bring structure to the system and why it is important. I believe that I know a way to solve this problem by making more use of graphic organizers and sterically use them to allow a stream lined process. a good example of this is google because they have a very simple lay out making it easy for people to figure out how to use it.

My vision for this project is to make the online part of class standardized because I believe that will make it easier to use. I also believe with standardization comes training because people only know what you teach them; if you train the staff I believe you should do the same with the students. Because if you look at the numbers it only makes sense because majority of the people that use the online system is student; they outnumber the teachers by a lot.

know the job of people above you; apply that to this by training the people under you how to do their job and the job above them- it creates an environment that allows everyone to be on the same page. When everyone is on the same page at the same time the efficiency of the task at hand increases because everyone understands what is expected on all levels.

I think that blackboard should make the process of learning better not worse. Hopefully by this point, you understand the difference between my goal and vision. So the big picture of my plan and the way I plan to market this to northeastern is to brake this into three parts. I would like to set it up so that there are three options on how to take a class I would like to see traditional classes, hybrids and online classes.
I believe that if blackboard is easier to use it will make for a better transition into student life for other military members. another thing to consider is if the online aspect of a class is presented well it will allow military personal to start taking classes at northeastern before they get out and that should allow them a better transition into student life.
