Case study analysis, 6-7 pages. The case study is : MediSys Corp.: The IntensCare Product Development Team. We use a book in class called Robbins,Organizational Behavior, 16th edition S. P. & Judge, T. A. (2015). There will be a Related Reading in Ch. 9 Foundations of Group Behavior,and Ch. 10.Understanding Work Teams.
Assignment: Individual Written Case Analysis
You will write one individually prepared written case analysis. You may sign up for any of the cases listed except for the case assigned to your team presentation. Papers are due at the beginning of class on the assigned day. No late papers. If your paper is late you will have to choose a different case to analyze. If your team case is in the 2nd half of the semester, you are strongly encouraged to submit your individual written case before November 1. Cases offer an opportunity to apply specific organization behavior concepts. In preparing a written case analysis or oral presentation, please specifically apply those concepts covered in the most recent reading materials. Other readings may also be applied but the primary context is the most recent reading and/or discussion. Insightful application of specific concepts is the primary basis for grading of cases and all other assignments. Your writing and grammar matter and do affect the grade. Follow the standard pattern for case analysis: First, define the problem and discuss its (possibly multiple, complex) causes in light of concepts we are reading about and discussing; examine alternatives for change; then choose and elaborate upon a course of action, defending it in terms of ideas we are covering. Length: about 6-7 pages, typed, double-spaced. APA style required.
General Outline to Follow in Writing a Case Analysis:
1. Cover page with title of your paper, your name, our class including section, date and other information you care to include.
2. Introduction - briefly give the context of the case. If this is more than one page then it is too long. You do not need to restate the case, just introduce the context. The end of the introduction may use essay style summarization to introduce what is following.
3. Define the problems and apply organization behavior theory to them. Although other theory may apply, the primary focus of your theory analysis is the reading assigned for the day of that case.
4. Not all the reading will apply to your case.
5. Explore alternatives for resolution and positive change. Again, apply theory.
6. Elaborate upon a course of action(s), make recommendations, and describe why this is the best approach. Defend in context of the theory.
7. Conclusion - this summarizes the issues of the case, summarizes your recommendations for action and why this is the best approach.
8. Reference list. If you quote from the case or the text, you must cite in APA style thatr refers us to the reference list. You do not need to use outside resources.
