Case - Developing a Social Media program

Part 2. Consider your social media presence and how your persona might be perceived by outside audiences. I'd like you to develop an analysis of your online presence, with the goal of learning to better critique your persona, including, maybe, your Facebook presence, a Twitter account, Instagram, Snapchat, among other possibilities. The fundamental question you're answering: How might outside audiences, specifically prospective employers, perceive you?

Analysis

In your analysis, include discussion of the following:

Your audience, purpose, and context. Focus on how you present yourself. What is your goal, and who is your primary audiences?
Your rhetoric. What is available about your online, and how well does it align with your professional goals? How might you improve your presentation? What rhetorical choices have you made and to whom are they designed to appeal? Consider visual as well as written rhetoric (design choices, etc.).

Take the information you've gathered and put it together into a memo that is approximately two pages long. Include a few quotes from your recent posts in your analysis (these could include screen caps, but be sure to include a detailed analysis of anything you take directly from your social media accounts). Feel free to use headings and bullet points in your report.

Question: Evaluate these drafts of a Facebook post.

a. What should the goal of the post be?

b. Compare the two drafts. What are the strengths and weak- nesses of each?

c. Which one would you choose? Why? What changes would you suggest for the post you chose?

d. Is a Facebook post sufficient? What other communication media should Harris use?
