Byron has been using his desktop PC with the Windows XP operating system. He decided that as Windows XP is no longer supported with updates from Microsoft, he would update his computer to Windows 10 Pro. After installing the new operating system, he was concerned that some of his applications and internal peripheral devices might be creating conflicts with the new operating system. He wanted to run some systems checks and boot the computer into Safe Mode, but found that his accustomed method to do that no longer works.

a. How would Byron be able to accomplish what he wanted to do?

b. Should Byron be concerned with compatibility between these operating systems?
